About

Paul holds an MA in Natural Sciences, which is the basis for his scientific and engineered approach to construction. He is currently undertaking his doctorate at Ulster University. He trained in traditional technique under couture milliner Rachel Trevor-Morgan (milliner to HRH the Queen) to learn detailed handwork. During his MA in Fashion Womenswear (Millinery), from the Royal College of Art in London, Paul refined his approach to design, how he works with materials, and defining his softly geometric aesthetic.

Paul’s engineered yet playful approach works with each material’s properties and integrates materials in innovative ways. Design development is always built on what has been learned from earlier work, with increasingly finely applied technique and material investigation.

Launched in 2014, The Season Hats was selected by the British Fashion Council to exhibit at London Fashion Week as part of BFC NEWGEN Accessories, having previously shown at LFW through the BFC/Stephen Jones OBE Headonism initiative. Work has been featured in publications including British Vogue, Tatler, the Irish Independent and the Irish Times.

Paul has exhibited within Paris Fashion Week, and collaborated with designers including Yiqing Yin (Haute Couture, Paris, AW12, SS13), and Steffie Christiaens (Mens and Womens Ready to Wear). His work has been selected for exhibition in London Craft Week, ShowCabinet (ShowStudio gallery) and Fashion Space Gallery. Paul was invited to join the British Hat Guild as a founder member, and now holds the positions of Treasurer, Director and Shareholder within the organisation.
